If you're interested in alternative energy, you might want to check out a series of networking events hosted by Clean Currents in celebration of Wind Powered Baltimore Week, Oct. 15-21. More than 35 businesses and neighborhood groups are coming together to celebrate Baltimore’s wind-powered community. 

With offices in Silver Spring and Baltimore, Clean Currents supplies residential and commercial customers with wind and solar energy.

Here is the events' lineup:

Networking Mixer- Oct. 16
The Black Olive, 803 South Caroline St., 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Mix, mingle, and enter a raffle to win prizes from wind-powered Baltimore businesses. $10 cover includes light organic fare and cash bar. Proceeds benefit Baltimore Green Works.


Green Neighborhood Challenge Kickoff - Oct. 17
Union Mill, 1500 Union Avenue, 5:30 p.m.- 6:45 p.m. Learn how your organization or neighborhood can raise funds for environmental projects while increasing support for clean energy.


B-More Wind Powered Happy Hour - Oct. 18
Golden West Cafe, 1105 West 36th St., 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Co-hosted with Baltimore City Paper and the Green Building Institute, celebrate wind power with a drink on Clean Currents. The first 20 attendees to mention Clean Currents receive a free drink. 


Not Your Mom's Ice Cream Social -Oct. 20
Taharka Brothers Ice Cream Factory, 3515 Clipper Mill Road, 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. Party and freestyle jam with Taharka Brothers and DJ Morphya, featuring the Baltimore Mixtape All Stars. Raffle for two Creative Alliance tickets, with proceeds benefitting the Baltimore Urban Debate League.
