Step OUT: To Eat and Drink Like the Greeks

Healthiest Diet
Healthiest Diet
The ancient Greeks loved to congregate with good food, wine and intellectual discourse at events known as symposiums.

Fast-forward, oh, a couple of millenniums or so. The staff at The Black Olive is teaming up with the Institute for Integrative Health and Johns Hopkins School of Public Health to hold this sort of event in present-day Baltimore.

The Food for Thought Symposia will feature wines from the island of Crete and food from the Black Olive prepared by Executive Chef Pauline Spiliadis. Greek-American chef and author Nikki Rose will be signing her book "Crete: The Roots of the Mediterranean Diet."

The event takes place Monday, Dec. 10 at the Inn at the Black Olive. The event is the first of many centered around wellness and healthful eating that the Black Olive will be hosting over the next year.
