The federally mandated Base Realignment and Closing (BRAC) puts Baltimore at the center of an economic region expected to grow by at more than 50,000 jobs in the next few years. Mid-distance between Fort Meade in Anne Arundel County and Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford County, the influx of new military personnel, their families and military contractors, the city will experience both the financial, cultural, logistical benefits and challenges of welcoming the many new residents and businesses that will move to the Greater Baltimore Area.
