Pixelligent Technologies is a leading supplier of nanocrystal additives for the electronics, industrial and military markets. More than a decade of research and development went into the formation of this company.

Its applications include improving the performance of semiconductors; enhancing the brightness of flat-panel displays and creating corrosion-resistant coatings for metal surfaces.
 
Pixelligent has received more than $11 million in grants from the National Institute of Standards and Technology and nearly $9 million in private investment. In the past 18 months, it has increased the production of its nanoadditives by nearly 1,000 times and plans to grow its manufacturing capacity.

Five months ago, it moved to a new manufacturing facility in Baltimore's Holabird Business Park. It anticipates hiring 150 during the next few years.
